How to Join the Next Event (12:00 GMT February 8, 2014)

The event starts at 12:00 GMT on February 8, and goes until we finish with all our participants.  If we get 100 participants, the event will last roughly 8 hours.  Participants can come online via the IRC and get in line any time during the event.

We need the following information sent to Only selected information (in bold) will be posted here publicly to the group, and used in reporting for the event.  You must provide all fields (except those marked (optional).

  • Name
  • email
  • phone number (optional)
  • skype (optional)
  • Nickname
  • Country
  • Province/State
  • City
  • Bitcoin Address for the Event
  • Refund Bitcoin Address (if needed, or if your deposit is to be refunded)
  • Charity Option:
    • You may request a full refund at the end of the event, or
    • The Charity or Charities that should receive your deposit, or
    • Your desire to donate to the Featured Charity, or
    • Any combination of the above

When you send this information to the email address, then we will send you a Bitcoin Deposit address. You will deposit at least 0.1 BTC in that address anytime up to 24 hours before the event. If you deposit more, we will distribute the deposit per your instructions. That means you can donate far more to various non-profits and charities if you wish.

On the day of the event, we will pass 0.1 BTC from one participant to the next. Once a participant has one confirmation, the participant will pass the 0.1 BTC to the next participant (as we order them at the Control Center in Austin in real time over an IRC channel). Once a Participant has had their turn, we will distribute their deposit per their instructions. This will make the entire event fully auditable by anyone in real time!
